2025 Dancer Scroll of Honour

DAVE HAMMER

Dave Hammer

The 2025 recipient of the Scroll of Honour is Dave Hammer.

This year’s recipient of the Scroll of Honour goes to Dave Hammer.

Dave started dancing in 1996 with the Co-Op Square. He went on to Doreen Sillery Square, learning Plus and A1 in 1998, then to A1 at Stardowners in 2000. Dave also dances at Chuckwagon 8’s, dancing A2, the Motivators A2, and Brendzy’s challenge C1 and C2, from 2021 to the present day. Dave received his 25 year dancer bar on February, 2023.

At the Club level, he is still helping at the Stardowners and, until last year, was President for, I believe, 15 years. He steered their members through Covid 19 with all its regulations and timelines. Dave with his partner Marge Scott shared the Vice President job from 2011 to 2013. Dave seldom misses a Club dance, he arrives early and is the last to leave. You can see him setting up promotional materials regarding upcoming events, special dances, Festivals and Fraser Valley information. Included in his weekly address to the Club, he encouraged members to support our square dance committee by attending these events, including the Fraser Valley meeting and at the end there is a joke for us. Dave still is writing the Club Chatter on a monthly basis for over 14 years.

Dave belongs to the Fraser Valley Square and Round Dance Association, and he dances in multiple clubs and support and help out with many events. He was Social Convenor for the Fraser Valley Association, and also on the Joint Promotions Committee of the FVS&RDA and the VDCTA for over 15 years.

Dave took on the job of chairing the Gala committee in 2019, and again in 2020, when it had to be cancelled due to Covid. He continues to chair the Gala Committee and presently put together a committee for this year’s Gala.

Always friendly, warm and inviting, always a gentleman, he is your Scroll of Honour recipient for 2025, Mr. Dave Hammer. Congratulations Dave, we all take part in congratulating you on receiving this honour.
