This year’s recipient of the Scroll of Honour, Maureen Wilson, is a fine example of dedicated service to our square dance community. Her talent and passion seem limitless. Maureen has been a member of Surrey Square Wheelers since 2013. Maureen's involvement at the Club level began as soon she started dancing, dancing at demos and helping out with paperwork and multitudes of tasks. By 2014 she was writing the Club Chatter, and her work continued expanding to doing advertising, dancer registrations, announcements, weekly slide shows, forms, posters, tickets.  In 2017 Maureen became Vice President of the Club and is now Club President. There is no question that she is a major contributor to all Club events.
      By 2015, her second year of dancing, Maureen launched into taking on responsibility as a member of several committees of the Fraser Valley Square and Round Dance Association. Communications and websites, forms and meeting minutes, work bees and hosting events—she has worked on Festivals, Galas, the Promotion Committee, various annual dances, and even took a Food Safe course to help out with serving food when we gather. Since 2019, Maureen has been secretary of the FVSRDA for both executive meetings and general meetings. Maureen has so many hats, she needs several email addresses to facilitate everything she is doing.
      As one of Maureen's nominators wrote, she "is a pleasure to work with" and "has been indispensable in keeping the FVSRDA functioning during the last three tumultuous years of pandemic and lack of a full executive."
      We all within the Fraser Valley Square and Round Dance Association are thankful for you, Maureen. Your talents, your energy, your dedication all befit the highest honour we can bestow. We all take part in congratulating you on receiving the 2023 Scroll of Honour.
